phpWebSite is extra easy to learn, and a growing number of modules makes it possible to add quite a few extra features and customizations.

There are lot of skins available for phpWebSite that make it easy for you to change your website around, and when you substitute your own graphics for the stock ones, you have a distinctive website look.

We won't kid you. You don't turn a Soapbox Derby car into an Indianapolis 500 winner, and if you are ambitious about extending your website's capabilities, you'll "hit the wall" faster with phpWebSite than with some other packages.

On the other hand, we wouldn't be promoting phpWebSite here if we didn't feel it was quite capable of meeting the needs of most sites.

phpWebSite was founded by the Web Technology Group at Appalachian State University.

Because phpWebSite is one of the less popular CMS packages, there are fewer exploits published for it, and consequently, the package isn't updated as often as some others. Fantastico is likely to have the latest version of the software. However, if you'd like us to do a manual install of phpWebSite, we're happy to do that for you, at no extra charge.

phpWebSite works nicely in either your base directory or in a subdirectory. It requires one MySQL database.
